PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to the Applewood Heights website. We hope that the format will facilitate communication between home and school. 

Please be sure to check for upcoming events. Our students are involved in a myriad of extracurricular activities and we look forward to seeing you at athletic events, concerts, Arts productions, Parents' Nights and School Council meetings.

Literacy remains a focus at Applewood and we ask that you encourage reading outside the school day on a regular basis.  Academic excellence has long been a tradition at Applewood and we expect that many of our graduating students will qualify as Ontario Scholars.  In order to honour all pathways for student success, the Ministry of Education now recognizes grade twelve workplace and open level courses for this program and we encourage all students to strive for the 80% average required for this distinction.

Applewood Heights continues to be a school that emphasizes community and our students place a high value on giving to others.  Our success depends on the excellent teamwork that we enjoy.  I am very much looking forward to working with you during the 2007 - 2008 school year.
